Hybrid System
This system conbines the best of both worlds: it is connected to the traditional utility grid (like an on-grid system) but also includes a dedicated battery storage setup (like an off-grid system.
This allows you to power your home using solar energy, store excess power for later, and still rely on the gird as a backup when needed.
Off-Grid System
Also known as a Stand-Alone Solar Power System is a setup that operates completely independently of the traditional electrical utility grid.
Because there are no power lines connecting the property to the utility company, it has to generate 100% of its own electricity for the sun from the sun and store every watt is need for nighttime or rainy days.
On-Grid
Also called a Grid-tied or Grid-connected System is the most popular, simple and cost effective type of solar installation.
Unlike Off-Grid Systems, it does not use batteries to store electricity. Instead, it is directly integrated with you local utility provider's power grid, using the grid itself as a giant, functional "battery".
